The Anatomy

What Makes a Bureau Bespoke Shirt

Most shirts are cut from a block pattern and graded up or down. Yours will not be. Here is what separates a Bureau commission from everything else.

Fit

A Pattern Drafted Only for You

Your master pattern is created from zero. No block, no grading — every seam line is yours alone, archived permanently in our studio.

Construction

Floating Canvas Construction

A floating canvas interlining — never fused with glue — that moves with the body, shapes with wear, and improves structurally with every press.

Finishing

Hand-Sewn Collar Bones

Inserted individually by hand to hold the collar roll at precisely the right height. Clean structure, no plastic inserts, no ironing tricks.

Material

Italian & English Mill Fabrics

Thomas Mason, Albini, Monti. Two-fold yarns, higher thread counts, reactive dyes. Fabric that holds its hand wash after wash, press after press.

Durability

Double-Run Seams Throughout

Every structural seam is sewn twice. Side seams, armholes, sleeves — reinforced so they will not fray, pucker, or pull across a decade of wear.

Craft

Hand-Stitched Buttonholes

Each worked by hand in dense silk thread — a clean keyhole edge that will not fray after hundreds of fastenings. The definitive mark of bespoke finishing.

Anatomy

The Collar Roll

A bespoke collar breaks at precisely the right point across the neckband — a natural roll that no pressed, fused, or factory collar can replicate.

Precision

Sleeve Pitch & Balance

The sleeve is set at an angle matched to how your arm naturally hangs. Calibrated to your posture — you will feel the difference the moment you put it on.

Bespoke is not a style. It is a method — one that has not changed in over a century, because it cannot be improved upon.
